Hi, good for you!! This will be the best thing you ever did for yourself and your family- remember that when times get tough

I quit cold turkey too, I worked for a guy who had quit and his advice got me through it~ that was over 20 years ago

*Take it 5 minutes at a time, you can do anything for 5 minutes~ don't think about forever, just think in minutes
This means every time you get the urge for a cigarette, wait 5 minutes...the urge will subside. The next time it strikes
hold out for just 5 minutes, and so on Just 5 minutes at a time

*It will be harder on the 3rd day, 3rd week and 3rd month...the urges will be far worse, just take them 5 minutes at a time
~ I don't know why but this really seems to be true, and in your case you've already experienced it... I also think you need to be really careful at the 1 year mark too, thinking you are over it and "having just one" can put you right back to the beginning

Then just try to distract yourself, chew on something if it helps or do something with your hands
But no matter what, just wait 5 minutes, don't think further ahead than that

And I so wish I had all the money I would've spent on cigarettes, so I would take the $20 a pack and buy myself something or have a savings account and watch it grow...when I quit cigarettes were just hitting $2 a pack- your bank fund will fly at your prices!!

Good luck, and I will be sending good vibes your way.
This is honestly and truly the best thing you will ever do!!!
Good luck!!!!!

I used Welbutrin and made the commitment NOT to get off them for 6 full weeks...no matter what I would continue to take it(I had went on it before for two weeks thought I was cured and fell right back into it). I will admit I was pretty stoned the first 4-5 days but by the end of 6 weeks I was done. I have family members that light right up next to me and I don't even miss it. The hardest part for me was getting past the first week or two because I didn't like the way they made me feel. It was totally worth it.

And by the way,you will have dreams where you are smoking and even after you are really, really "DONE".you will have times (I still do) when you think "Damn,I want a cigarette." Or just kind of automatically start to look for them and the go "oh yeah,I quit 20 years ago LOL! And once in awhile-although usually you just think about how much it stinks-you will walk past someone who is smoking, catch a whiff of it and think "darn, that smells good." Good advice though-one day at a time.....

I asked my husband the other day "Where are my cigarettes?" he thought I had lost my mind.
