Okay.....this summer I spent a lot of time hanging out with old friends and partying it up. Now that I'm back home and getting settled in to real life again, I realize why my husband calls me an old lady. I'm SO BORING. All my friends here are older than me by a decade at least, and I suppose they've tamed me a bit. I don't do anything exciting hardly at all compared to what I used to. The last afternoon I spent with my girlfriends we sat by the pool in our big floppy sun hats talking about PTA drama and tennis lessons for the kids. Last night was a girls night out for my friends bday and know what we did? We painted pottery. Fun, but oh so tame. I just feel like I've become very boring and vanilla. How do I get that fun back? And more importantly...how do i get that fun back and remain a responsible parent? There seems to be a fine line but maybe I'm not looking at it right. AND how do I get that fun back without bailing on my tame friends?? Does anyone understand what I'm talking about?

Well, for fun we usually bbq, have a firepit and invite friends over. Of course there is usually some drinking so that makes us a lot funner and since we are at home that keeps us responsible!

Anyway. We don't do much either unless we do it here on the block. If I didn't live on Drama Loop, I'd never do anything "fun". Sure, painting pottery doesn't sound exciting, but it's cheaper and safer than going to the bar.

I don't know how you find your "fun" again.

For family "fun" we have the cabin, the rhino, and the quad. That's it.. we don't camp anymore, we don't go to Mexico anymore, we don't go to many races anymore.

Damn... I AM old.

No, I don't mean that people older than me aren't fun.....maybe im expressing it wrong. Coffee with the girls, breakfast group, pottery. What differentiates me from my mom? Ug. Nothing!
Btw, all my neighbors are my parents age!! Lol
