07-29-10 02:52 PMIm desperate for some help on quitting for good.I simply cannot get past day 3.I have quit 3 times in the past 3 months for 3 days,I cant make it to day 4.
I have: used hypnosis CDs,Champix tablets to the point I couldnt even eat from the nausea it gave me,Ive tried the gum and thats like chewing concrete not to mention tastes vile,patches give me bad rashes,and Im now looking at using those peppermint lollies with the nicotine in them.
I will be completely honest in saying I do but dont want to quit.I love it,but I need to for my health and smokes are up over $20 a packet now.
Help,how did you all do it?
07-29-10 04:23 PMI just quit-cold turkey. 5 packs a day to zero. Hardest thing I have ever done but it CAN be done. Nobody could be any more addicted than I was. That was Nov. 17.1988,I was 38 years old and had been smoking for 20 years. Carry an unopened pack of smokes with you all the time and tell yourself you CAN have one if you want but choose not to. Also,I had a little plastic coffee stirrer stick in my mouth for three months straight-would probably still have it if dh hadn`t begged me to get rid of it.....
